If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work in the world of wildlife and conservation, you’re not alone. Many young people across South Africa dream of a future where they can protect nature, work with animals, or play a part in conserving our planet’s biodiversity. But often, it’s hard to know what kinds of jobs are out there—or how to start.

That’s why AmaZanza is excited to share the inspiring “Careers in Conservation” by Global Conservation Corps video series, now streaming on our platform.

🎥 Hosted by Mbhoni Mzamani and produced by the Global Conservation Corps (GCC), the series introduces viewers to real people in conservation—heroes and role models who are building extraordinary careers in a wide variety of fields. From working as a Field Ranger or K-9 Handler, to guiding guests as a Field Guide, cooking as a Head Chef at a lodge, or even pursuing unique paths as a Reptile Handler, Bird Guide, or Mountaineer, the series shows just how many different doors conservation can open.

Featured Episodes include:

  • Shepard Munyane – Field Ranger (English | Tsonga)
  • Malapane Precious – K-9 Handler (English | Tsonga)
  • Joel Hlatswayo – Field Guide (English | Tsonga)
  • Nkwane Patience – Head Chef (English | Tsonga)

A new chapter in conservation innovation is unfolding in Phiring Village with the official opening of a Zanza Lab, a dynamic space designed to empower communities with skills, technology, and tools to build sustainable conservation enterprises. The initiative is guided by the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Region (K2C) as the lead organisation, implemented on the ground by Zanza Africa, and made possible through the core funding support of the TASC: Carbon Finance and Project Development Company program. At the heart of this effort lies AmaZanza, the digital platform that will serve as the central access point for lab participants, partners, and the broader community. Through AmaZanza, users will connect to resources, training materials, conservation stories, and collaborative opportunities that extend well beyond village borders.
